EXPERIENCE + EDUCATION + EXECUTION

LEADERSHIP ∞ CHARACTER

Leadoff purpose:

To develop leaders of character who operate with an UNCOMPROMISING standard of excellence in every aREA of their lives.

There is a significant trend towards character education as a component of leader development, and we are at the forefront of this trend.

All of our programming is centered around the idea that leadership is THE distinguishing factor in the success of a team or organization and that character is the foundation of great leadership.

Elite organizations, units, and  teams win the right way by simultaneously developing great people and then empowering them to lead the right way.

There is also a significant trend towards the value of experiential learning in the development of leaders.

We create programs that maximize the value of a leader's experiences through intentional individual and team reflection while providing the concepts, knowledge, and tools necessary to empower growth and development.

Using the military "staff ride" and our innovative "military leadership simulations" as our model, we are uniquely positioned to develop and deliver this type of experiential programming.

MAXIMIZING EXPERIENCES

Leadership lessons are timeless, and we combine these lessons in leadership and character development from some of the most historic locations in the country with experiential leadership simulations, classroom lectures, battlefield immersions, small group discussions, collective character nights, and more to create a holistic "retreat" experience that is the premier program of its kind in the country.

This method has been utilized for decades by the military to teach leadership development, and we have taken the same battlefield programming and geared it directly for the elite organization, business, or team.

In doing so, we are able to help take leadership lessons from the battlefield to your "playing field" each and every day.

WHY THE BATTLEFIELD?

The Siege of Vicksburg is considered one of the decisive moments of the Civil War and provides leadership  lessons in ownership, responsibility,  critical thinking, conflicting guidance, effective decision-making, determination, habits of character, the impact of morale, questioning authority, and more

VICKSBURG, MS

One of the most important battles of the American Revolution, Cowpens showcases leadership and character lessons in playing to your strengths, understanding your people, developing other leaders behind you, communication under fire, effective motivation, the "golden mean" of character, and more

Cowpens, SC

Often labeled the turning point of the Civil War, Gettysburg is our premier program and draws out leadership and character lessons in accountability, purpose, loyalty, uncompromising standards, a bias for action, individual and collective character, effective communication, decision-making, and more

MISSION
ANALYSIS

The Team Character Simulation program uses a combination of character strengths assessment and crew resource management training to move the needle from experience to execution as we work to build collective character and maximize leadership performance for your organization.

All of our simulations are based on real-life missions and showcase the same process used by naval aviation units in screening their pilots for designation as mission commanders. We will turn the classroom, boardroom, or film room into an aviation “ready room”, providing each participant with a briefing for their day’s mission and then guiding them through a series of situations in which they must work together in different “crews” to solve the challenges they face in-flight with other stakeholders, their crew, and their adversaries, in a race against the clock and each other to see who can successfully complete the mission and return to base safely.

The simulation is followed-up with immediate debrief and reflection by all participants, focusing our time together on:

DESIGNED TO FUNCTION INDEPENDENTLY OR AS A COMPONENT OF OUR ARETE RETREATS, OUR TEAM CHARACTER SIMULATIONS ARE A COMPLETELY CUSTOMIZABLE LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE UNLIKE ANYTHING ELSE!

EXECUTION

“It ran incredibly smoothly. It was very apparent how much effort had been put into the whole program. I learned more than I had expected, came out feeling more prepared than I had anticipated, and thoroughly loved the experience.”

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

“The eXPERIENCE was way better than anything I could have possibly expected. I left feeling very motivated and excited to begin leading my team, and felt like I left with a lot of tools to take back with me.”

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

“I had visited Gettysburg four times prior to this event, and I have never envisioned the battle and THE associated sacrifice so clearly. This program is the best in the business.”

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

“Col Douds is an incredible speaker and his ability to combine knowledge with presentation brought to life the concepts we talked about over the weekend and the perspective we need to maintain as leaders.”

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

“What separated the Gettysburg eXPERIENCE from any other leadership seminar I’ve ever had was simply being surrounded by the tremendous history of the battlefield.”
